Losing someone you love is one of the hardest moments in life. At St. Timothy’s Anglican Church in North Toronto, our clergy are here to walk with you and your family, and to help you plan a church funeral that is dignified, personal, and shaped around your family’s wishes. Whether you are a longtime member or have never been to St. Timothy’s, you are welcome here.
Whether you think of it as a funeral, a memorial service, or a Thanksgiving for the Life of your loved one, the service can be held in our sanctuary, or our clergy can lead it at a funeral home or another location.
What to Expect
A funeral or memorial service at St. Timothy’s can include hymns, readings from Scripture, eulogies from family or friends, a homily, and prayers. Holy Communion can be included if you wish, and the service can be held with a casket or an urn.
Music

- Music can bring great comfort. Our music director, Edward Connell, will help you choose music for the service, with organ, soloists, or other musicians such as a piper or cellist.
- Music can be part of many moments in the service, from a prelude as guests arrive to hymns, a solo, and a closing hymn.
- Family members and friends are also welcome to sing or play. All music, singers, and musicians are arranged through Edward, who can be reached at edward@sttimothy.ca.

Livestreaming
For family and friends who cannot attend in person, we can livestream the service with a private link, so they can be part of the day from anywhere.
Receptions
Receptions can be held at the church after the service, depending on availability. Soward Hall welcomes up to 120 guests seated, and Marsh Parlour is suited to smaller gatherings of up to 25. A screen is available for a photo slideshow. Please book reception space through the office before making other arrangements.
