Children are full members of our church, and full participants in worship, today and not only in the future. As a children friendly church in North Toronto, we are a family friendly church where kids of all ages are welcome every Sunday.
Who’s this for?
- Children from Preschool to Grade 4 and their families
- First-time visitors welcome
- Grade 5 and up? See Deepening Our Faith
How Sunday Works for Children
- 10:00 a.m. Families worship together
- Children’s Message: the priest shares a message based on the day’s readings, often with visuals or hands-on activities
- Age-specific groups: children head to their own space for Bible learning and creative activities
- Communion: children rejoin their families
- End of service: children lead the procession out
- Coffee hour: children play together in their own space while adults connect
This Fall
- Activities are led by professional instructors and parish volunteers
- Art project: creating large outdoor letters spelling ST. TIM’S, decorated with biblical images and symbols
- Service project: baking for two Sundays, then helping prepare and serve coffee hour on the third
What Makes Us a Children Friendly Church
- Real roles in worship: children carry the cross and candles, read, and help at the altar
- Quarterly Intergenerational Services: simplified liturgies with a combined children’s message and homily
- Children’s Chapel and Library: dedicated, creative spaces just for kids
- Youth initiatives: service projects, retreat fundraising, and leadership opportunities
