Sunday Services Guide

alter, child & crossAt St Timothy's we recognize the diverse needs of our community by offering different kinds of worship services and we recognize the need to re-assess what it means to be a Christian in a post-Christendom world, through worship that is rich in music, symbolism, prayer and reading and interpretation of scripture.

Every Sunday, two services are held,
one at 8:00 and one at 10:00am.

The 8:00am service is a quiet reflective service in the traditional Elizabethan English of the Book of Common Prayer. The congregation is usually around 25 people.

The 10:00am service is our main worship service, incorporating elements of both traditional and contemporary music and liturgy. The services are from the Book of Alternative Services (1985). The whole church community gathers together for the entrance rite and after the children's talk, the children (age 3 years to high school) go to church school, returning for communion bread and wine.  Baptized Christians of all denominations and age are invited to share with us at the Lord's table. Those not receiving bread and wine are invited to share with us by receiving a blessing. Anointing and laying on of hands for those who are sick is available in the side chapel as soon as people have finished coming forward for communion.

Children under three years are welcome to stay in church with their family or to hear a story and play with other children in the nursery. It is also quiet alright to walk around church with a restless baby or toddler and to nurse discreetly.
